New fungicide protects cereals from fusarium head blight and rusts
Protecting cereal crops from yield-robbing diseases
Cereal growers are constantly faced with the threat of fusarium head blight and rusts – two of the most yield damaging diseases to cereal crops. Half of spring wheat and two thirds of durum sampled in 2016 contained fusarium damage and rusts are growing in prevalence with stripe (yellow) rust able to successfully overwinter in Western Canada. These diseases can both have a devastating impact on wheat yield and quality.
New proprietary fungicide provides more protection options
Hornet™ fungicide delivers another option to help growers defend their cereal crops against damages from fusarium head blight and rusts. Hornet (Group 3) is a proprietary brand of tebuconazole in a liquid formation, similar to Folicur® 432, giving Canadian farmers access to more tools to protect their cereal crops from two serious diseases.
